The Song Quadradinha was written by an Angolan artist by the name of Yola Araújo, the song is heavily rhythmic and played in the Kizomba style, that is to say, a drum centric form of music, and the predecessor to Capoeira and Samba music. Much like other forms of sub-Saharan African music, Kizomba integrated heavily with dance and community. What makes this form of music unique however is that it tends to be much slower than other similar forms of music, and the focus of songs tends to be more romantic, almost like the tone of some western songs.
What makes Kizomba unique is the way its begun to propagate in the modern day, becoming one of the more popular forms of sub-Saharan African music, even finding success in Asia and South America.
