This piece is titled, Dagomba, with a description of it being female singing and hand-clapping recorded in Tamale. I was drawn to this piece because in the film we watched in class on Thursday, I found it interesting how the one lady was the only finger piano player in the area, and one of the best. It made me think of the role women might have in music in this region. Everything is a rhythm so I can see how women can create an influential music scene just by doing what they typically do to keep families functioning (washing clothes, house work). This piece also seemed to be a call and response piece, common in this area as well.
