My song was titled Le Jour De L’an by Christiane Lelaure. The song is short and simple, at only 1:10 seconds long. This is a really relaxed, calm song. The rhythm is in simple meter, the dynamics and melody line are very legato and calming. The song starts with a flute accompanying a single female voice singing. The French language being sung is easy to understand the ladies diction and tone. During the middle part, the flute gets a solo part until the singer comes back in. Le Jour De L’an translates to New Years Day so it is a song of celebration! It struck me by surprise that this calming song is actually used for celebratory events.
