Hidamari no Uta is a classic Japanese pop and soft rock song from the 90s that was used in a popular Japanese TV drama series called Under One Roof 2. Musically, the song is built around a piano and acoustic guitar instrumental with vocals as the backing melody. A tambourine is used as the sole percussion in the song, which adds on to the idea that there are no distinctively Japanese instruments used in the song, but it does reminisce Japanese music of the time. When I was younger, my mum used to watch the TV series every day, so I heard the song often, and that’s why I chose it.
