I found this song while browsing YouTube. I chose this piece because of its instrumentation and its similarity to the music shown in class. I enjoyed its use of the dan tranh and dan kim (or “moon lute”), as well as the unique integration of the electric guitar. I was impressed with their ability to maintain such a high level of beat and continuity, especially with a lack of percussion. It seems like this song specifically was performed by a studio offering lessons and this is the faculty. I also loved the addition of the voice and the life it brought to the music. The singer’s name is Anh Chang.
