I chose a piece called Traditional Belly Dance of Egypt performed by a group called SOHAG folk dance group. This group is one of the most prominent groups that perform this style of art. In the beginning of the song, it starts with some sort of flute introduction. Then the flutes drop out, and percussion joins in. Shortly after, the flutes join the percussion, the dancers join the stage, and a male vocalist starts singing. The tempo of the song stay pretty consistent throughout. There is not much change in speed of the performance. I chose this piece because of the percussion and dancers. I always find it very interesting  to watch the different dancing techniques in each culture. Not only were the women dancing in pretty dresses, but the men with drums were also dancing. I really enjoyed the percussion throughout. It was very rhythmic and drove the piece forward.
