I selected “Kun Faya Kun” from the Bollywood movie Rockstar. The song was composed by A. R. Rahman and sung by A. R. Rahman, Javed Ali, and Mohit Chauhan, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. It is a Sufi-inspired song that is mixed with traditional Indian sounds and modern Bollywood music. Although I do not understand the language, it sounds very peaceful and spiritual to me, with emotional vocals, tabla, and other instruments that create a powerful musical experience for anyone of any background to listen to. 

I chose this song because I really like how it makes me feel calm and emotional throughout the whole song. I also enjoy how the three singers’ voices blend together so effortlessly and how the music makes you feel like there is a strong spiritual essence. I also think the song is interesting because it represents an important part of Indian musical culture while still bringing in that modern element to ensure that it reaches a broader audience. It’s a pretty long song and is quite repetitive, but in a way, it makes you feel entranced and relaxed. I would absolutely recommend this song to anyone if they are willing to try it out.
