The song I chose is Kauanoeanuhea by Keali’i Reichel. This song talks about the smell of Keali’i Reichel island and how he misses it. He then lists local landmarks as to where the smell or “Kauanoeanuhea” can be found. I chose this song because it is a very wholesome song when you analyze the lyrics. This guy makes a whole song out of the smell of his home. I would say my hometown which happens to be West De Pere, is accompanied by unique smells that I can not find anywhere else.

The song is sung completely in Hawaiian. It sounds like a mix of American Country, American Oldies, and a lullaby all in one. It features a male voice singing a wide range of notes, both high and low. The song includes a string-like instrument that is most likely a guitar. Later in the song, more voices join with Keali’i Reichel to produce a beautiful harmonious sound. The same 4 verses are repeated three times.
