Dark Eyes, also called Black Eyes, is a Russian romance folk song originally created in the 1800s. It is notably one of the most famous Russian folk songs, having been done over by various artists both in and outside of Russia, even having been reimagined as an American style banjo ballad. The original songs origins are somewhat hazy, but it was originally written down by Yevgeny Grebyonka, a Ukrainian poet and writer.

The Song itself is usually performed using Russian instrument styles, and makes use of accordions, balalaikas, as well as various struck instruments like tamborines.
