For this assignment, I chose the song “3 Daqat” by Abu and Youssra. I found the recording on YouTube. This song was polyphonic because not everything was the exact same. There was musical instruments in the song, specifically one of the instruments was the drums. In the song, there are both a male and female vocalist. For majority of the song, it is the male vocalist singing, but then towards the female vocalist joins in. I chose this song because I thought it had a really fun beat, and it was enjoyable to listen to. I believe it was a great representation of this region.
