I chose this song because its a traditional Hindustani raga from Northern India which we learned about in this chapter. This is an important musical tradition of South Asia, and the Hindustani raga is one of the most well known. This song brought a very calming and peaceful mood almost to me like raining outside. I really like how relaxing it sounded and because it was very different from the music I usally listen to. I also thought it was interesting to hear how the melody develops throughout the performance.
