The song that I chose is actually a solo performance of Chopin’s Ballade op. 52. I knew this piece for quite some time and something about it really hits home. I wanted to show this piece not just because it was composed in Europe, but to show the expression within it as well as the poetical side of it. I found this piece on YouTube and it was performed by Krystian Zimerman. The characteristics of this piece is that it has main themes and transitions. Each them presents a certain mood to the atmosphere and every time it changes, the mood either becomes happy or melancholic.
