I chose “Choere” by Mark Forster. I looked it up from YouTube however I knew this song long before this song share. I personally love this German song. I took German for five years in high school and we would always have March Madness but with German songs. Every week we’d listen to new songs and vote out which one should go on and which ones shouldn’t. I am honored that I had such an amazing German teacher that she exposed us to all sorts of German music and culture throughout her years teaching there. She took us on the GAAP program and we traveled around Italy, Austria, and Germany for three weeks and stayed with German high school hosts as well. When I saw this week was Europe I knew I had to choose a song I learned from my time in Europe. This song not only has ties from my high school, but the meaning of the song also ties in well with my life. In the song he asks why we think so bad about ourselves and as we grow older we do it even more. We think about what we can and cannot do and forget about life in the moment. He says that we will rain confetti, pull out the red carpet, and have a choir sing for us. We need to be present and happy everyday. Also I just love how the song is written. I love the bass and the choir and the moments of of break in the beat. To me it wraps everything I like to listen into one song. I love it all.
