TRĂNG THU DẠ KHÚC is a song by Đăng Thảo. I choose this song because it relates to the first example we heard about in class. It comes from South Vietnam, and features a Dan Tranh. I found this while searching Youtube. The title “TRĂNG THU DẠ KHÚC”  translates to Autumn Night Moon. I wasn’t thinking of Autumn when I first listened to the song, but after seeing the translation, I could see why he chose to name it that way. It sounds mystical due to the sound that the Dan Tranh makes.

This song features a solo Dan Tranh player. The Dan Tranh is a stringed instrument which makes it a chordophone. It features no singing as well as featuring no other instruments. He plays a couple of the same notes, but it doesn’t seem like he plays the same verse over again.
