I chose the song “The Moon Over the Mountain Guan” by Jiaoyue Lyu. This song is modern, as it was played in 2016, by Lyu. Despite it being relatively new, it features an instrument that is thousands of years old. The only instrument, the Guqin, is an ancient instrument that was created in China many years ago. This song reminds me of a sort of happy, yet gloomy sound. No wonder the song title features the word moon.    The song features a Guqin as the only instrument. It features the soloist on the Guqin. The song has no singing in it. It features a lot of high beats followed by occasional low sounding beats. The beats linger as they are played. Some linger for just a second, but some last for a couple seconds.
