I chose this song because in the title it claimed it was some sort of overture, and that it was! This piece of music was very upbeat and cheery. There was a lot of different instruments and sounds all happening simultaneously. The loudest and main instrument, that held what I am assuming is the melody, was the dan co (to my knowledge). It had a very distinct and powerful sound which carried throughout the entirety of the piece. Their were multiple different sets of drums, each with a different tone and sound, that were played together. One set seemed to be keeping the rhythm, while the others seemed to be making different sorts of sounds. However, all the sounds worked in unison, overlapping and displaying a very proud, optimistic, distinguished noise. After reading more of the culture of the piece, I learned that this specific recording was displayed at a ceremony honoring the nat spirits, which helped me to infer the importance and reverse of it.
