This is probably my favorite song share submission. This song is near and dear to my heart, and it is one of my favorites. After we listened to Kenny Rogers in class, I immediately regret not submitting a Kenny Rogers song to represent the US. I am making up for that now. This is the most iconic duet in country music history! Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton have a special place in my heart. Islands in the Stream is their most popular duet. I first started listening to Kenny when I was about 5 years old, and he’s been my favorite ever since. I got to see him in concert when I was 14 years old, and I was probably the youngest person there! His song “The Gambler” is my all time favorite song, and the day Kenny died, I lost a part of me. I chose this song because it is not only extremely catchy, but it reminds me of the good ole days when Kenny was alive and happy. I miss him everyday, but I know his spirit lives on through his music. Not to mention this song features the very talented Dolly Parton, who is another one of my favorite artists.
