The song I chose this week is “Bi Ehsas Instrumental” by Shadmehr Aghili, a famous Iranian singer, musician, songwriter, composer, record producer, and actor that I found on Youtube. This song has words to it, but I chose the instrumental form because you can more clearly hear the instruments being played. In the music video, Shadmehr Aghili is playing the violin that has insccriptions of love, family, and thank you inscribed on it. It is also noted that he can play the guitar and mandolin, one of which can be heard strumming at the beginning, as well as percussion instruments which can be heard throughout the piece. The piece has a melancholy tone that fits well with the more sad lyrics. I chose this example because I have recently been on an instrumental grind for study music, so I thought this would be a good piece to see if there were contrasting aspects.
