I selected the song Princess of Persia by Faolan. Faolan is a music project that creates fantasy, folk, and world-inspired instrumental music. The music has strong Middle Eastern influences and features an adventurous sound. The style, melodies, and exotic rhythms help create vivid images of deserts and stories from the Persian world. I found the recording on YouTube. I chose this example because I enjoy how the music tells a story without using any words. The blend of traditional Middle Eastern sounds with modern instrumental music makes it pretty unique. It helped me appreciate how music can represent a culture.
