I selected this song because I noticed in the title that it in included the instrument the “Guqin”. This song is very calm and tranquil, giving the impression of a soothing sound with the use of the Guquin. This instrument sounds like a mix of a stringed instrument and a harp, in this context, used to create a subtle, comforting ambience. This piece, after reading more of the culture and description, is a representation of soldiers on the frontier as well as a representation of home and family comfortability. This piece is also based on a poem from 1931. I really enjoyed how peaceful this specific piece was, with the Guquin being the star of the show.
