The song I chose is actually a song I have known, and liked, for a while.  Its a popular pop song in India that mixes traditional Indian Carnatic singing and transitions into modern Indian pop.  I chose this song because of how much I genuinely enjoy the song.  I like the catchy beat, and the flow of the lyrics, and going into this unit I was often reminded of this song.  I believe it shows where India is at today with its mainstream music, as this song is one of the most popular songs to come from that region.
