The piece I chose is by The Original Trinidad Steel Band. I chose this piece because it has a light and airy feel. The melody has a bright but calm sound, similar to a bird flying through the air. This piece soars, which makes sense because it is called yellow bird. It has the calmness of a bird flying with the bright sound which makes me think of the color yellow. This piece is very repetitive but still has so much character. I really enjoy how light the steel pan drums are being played, which really makes this piece relaxing and easy to listen to for a long period of time. Overall I really enjoy this piece and how calm it makes me feel.
