When searching for a song to reflect on, I wanted to see what this traditional sound would be like in a modern setting. This piece is exactly that. During this performance, the instrumentalist is performing in front of a live audience. Although this is not the traditional setting, I still believe that a lot of the same original characteristics are still present in this presentation of the didgeridoo. First of all, the performer, David Hudson,  is a man so he still impersonates the ideal didgeridoo player for this culture. The didgeridoo is also being played alone or with a percussion accompaniment; it is not a didgeridoo ensemble which is not preferred for this instrument. In addition, especially when the second man comes in, you can tell that Hudson is playing the didgeridoo freely and even if it is planned out, he is still playing by what he feels as though he is being told to play. David Hudson also makes videos to explain to his listeners what exactly they are listening to by showing them how he makes and prepares the Didgeridoo. This helps the audience understand the Didgeridoos history as well as keep the instrument in more of a respectable environment when everyone witnessing the performance understands its background. Overall, I think this performance captivates the audience with a traditional instrument while still remaining familiar with modern aspects.
