I chose the song is “Who Let the Dogs Out” by the Baha Men. The song was released on July 26, 2000. It fits within the genres of Miami bass, soca, breakbeat, calypso, and junkanoo. The song I chose is their most popular which even won a Grammy Award. “Who let the Dogs Out” was on many different countries top charts for music as well has been used in different movies. The song is not actually about dogs, but instead has a feminist message which criticizes men who catcall women. I chose this song because it was something I recognized, and I always wondered the meaning behind the lyrics, but I always forgot to look them up. The song has a very catchy feel with the unique rhythm and repetitive chorus.
