This audio example was on the top 10 list of music trending in South Africa this week. I wanted to look more into Afro-pop, and found this interesting selection. “Welele” is a piece by afro-pop artists Pushkin and Springle, who currently are still relevant today. Instrumentation is very relaxed, consisiting of hand drums and electronic drumbeats, filled in through multiple natural and synthesized vocal harmony. Apart from that, this piece is very relaxed in nature, and feels more like a background song for everyday activity.
