The song that I chose is “Under the Sea” from the movie, “The Little Mermaid”. I chose this song because when we first listened to the Steel Band example from the Caribbean in class, this is the first song that came to my mind. It has influence from the calypso style from Trinidad and Tobago and reggae from Jamaica. This song has a fast tempo, so it is very uplifting and can easily be danced to just like the other songs we listened to from the Caribbean in class, especially, “Jump Up”. The main instruments that I can hear being played are steel pans and trumpets, as well as some maracas.
