The song I picked is Tu Hai, which translates to “you are”, and is written by the artist Javed Aktar. Javed Aktar is an Indian screenwrite, lyricist, and poet who is mainly known for his work in Hindi cinema. The actual song on the other hand had music composed by A.R. Rahmen but the vocalists are both A.R. Rahmen and Sarah Moidutty. The song was written to explore themes of love, longing, and the profound connection between two individuals and has gained popularity through its use in movies. The reasoning behind why I picked this song was because I thought we were able to get a good understanding of both the instruments and voices. In the beginning the instruments are highlighted and then it switches between the two voices so we get to hear them both clearly. The song gives us an insight into different instruments and music styles that we don’t get to hear that often.
