The style of music is called, “Traditional Inca Music” which is played in Peru. I chose to include music from here because my family and I have always been interesting in traveling to Machu Picchu to explore the history and hike the ruins. The largest Pre-Columbian civilization to the Americas and Cusco (capital) was the Inca civilization. This music was used for religion ceremonies and dances and included instruments like the panpipes, flutes, bells, drums. The residents actually believed the soul of the animal was kept alive when playing this music in religious ceremonies and dances. The history of this amazing place is so interesting to me which is why I chose to include a style of music from here for this weeks song share!
