This style of music and dance (as shown in the video) is unique and is performed by the Asafo companies among The Fantes of Oguaa Traditional Area (Cape Coast, Ghana). Each of the Seven Asafo Companies have their unique chants and gods they used during times of war. Fante music is not necessarily a new genre of music in Ghana, but it encompasses all known genres of music such as Hiplife, Hip-hop, Afrobeats, Azonto, Highlife, Reggae and Dancehall which are all bound by the unique Fante culture.
