For my song share this week I’m picking the 1977 song by Bob Marley and The Wailers, Three Little Birds. I’m choosing to share this song this week because it reminds me of growing up with my two sisters and the song in general has always had a positive association in my life. Overall, the song is simple and joyful, originally inspired by the three birds flying by Bob Marley’s windows. The main instruments within the song include; the guitar, drums, keyboards, and percussion. But we can also hear a trumpet, saxophone, and trombone. For the vocals of the song we hear Bob Marley as the main voice but there are also three female singers within the recording. I thought this was a good song to share with the class because although it’s popular and everyone might know it, it sums up how most individuals imagine Jamaican music.
