I chose the song, “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers because it did not come up during our introduction to chapter 13 in class but feel that it is widely recognized like all of the other songs that did come up. My initial thoughts when thinking of what music to share during this chapter was country because I don’t feel as though many other countries have this genre and also that country music is very centralized around the idea of America. This is easily one of Kenny Rogers biggest hits and as a fun fact he wasn’t even a gambler. My brothers and I are big country enthusiasts and love this song so I found it natural to share.
