The song I chose for my song share is called “Sky & Sea”. I chose this piece because I thought it was a good representation of how music in Thailand has modernized. Although this piece does not use any traditional Southeast Asian instruments, it is still in Thai. I felt this piece was really beautiful and loved the instrumental mix of the string orchestra, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, and piano. It gave the piece a really nice flow and had a very emotional affect on the piece which made it really enjoyable. This piece is a little less modern than the type of music I listen to in 2023, but it had an early American style 2000s feel which I actually enjoyed.  “Sky & Sea” is about a person who loves someone that doesn’t love them back. This person wants to be with someone that doesn’t want to be with them and that makes the person (the singer in this case) sad that they aren’t with someone they want to be with, longing for love. Overall this is a really enjoyable piece and had lots of beautiful qualities.
