This song is played by INCA, The Peruvian Ensemble, and was recorded in 1992. The piece begins with a very different type of playing technique of the panflute compared to about 30 seconds into the song, where the playing technique is one that we are more familiar with. The rest of the song features a panflute which plays the melody, a stringed instrument, and a percussion drum and shaker instrument. The tempo is pretty meditative at first, however there are three sections following this meditative period, where in each section, the tempo increases even more than the previous section. I selected this song because I was interested in hearing more music that included the panflute, since I used to play the flute and I find other flutes from around the world very interesting.
