This is a Korean cultured base group called the Sanjo Ensemble. My first impression of this music was hearing a wind instrument, strings, and percussion. After looking deeper into this music, the instruments that are included in this ensemble are a Daeguem(Flute), Gayageum(String), and Jang-Gu(Drum). Also, I noticed that there was a steady beat the whole time and not many pitch changes, in other words, they seem to be in unison. Near the end of the piece, there was a call-and-response a bit. The reason why I chose to do this piece is that it was so interesting to see how these instruments work together to create a beautiful sound. I chose this region specifically because I love the sounds that these instruments make, it’s so relaxing.
