I found this example on YouTube, and I chose this song because I wanted to look for a Hawaiian based song with Reggae elements in it. This song satisfies both of those criteria as the Reggae sounds throughout the song make the listener feel as if they are on the beach in Hawaii. Additionally, I enjoy listening to Reggae music as it puts me in a calm and relaxing state of mind, and it was interesting to find something similar in Hawaiian music. The artist of the song, The Green, talks about being proud of where you come from and being proud of the music they like, which was Reggae for them. For those reasons I felt that I was able to resonate with the song.
