The song that I have selected is Resham Firiri. This is a traditional folk song from Nepal. The song was composed by Buddhi Pariyar and was then recorded for Nepal radio. It has been one of the most widely known and most commonly performed songs since its release in 1969 because of its widespread popularity. It is traditionally played as street music and includes three major instruments. The first instrument is the Sarangi, which is a violin-like instrument with a short neck that is played with a bow. The second instrument used is the Madal, a Nepali traditional drum, which is used for rhythm keeping. The third and final instrument is the Basuri, which is a flute that is traditionally produced from bamboo. There is no exact English translation for a lot of the lyrics, so it is hard to decipher the exact meaning of the song, but it is also sometimes called “mountain song” which comes from the English translation of some of the words that we can understand and apply to our language.
