Shanmukhapriya is “ominous melodic structure” and Carnatic. The author name is Aruna Sairam. My first impressions of listening to the music, was the vocalist and it was a female, the rhythm in her voice changed over time, and it seems as her voice is going with the violin that I also heard. Not just the violin I heard, it was the sitar, and around 5:22, the drum/tabla came in and the pace got faster at the end, and the vocalist starting using her hands and slapping her lap at the end. I chose this example, because I thought it was very interesting and I loved the violin solo and how it can be used in different cultures. Personally it was my favorite part because I do play the violin myself and it shows a deeper meaning in the instrument. Overall, it was so fun to listen to this piece and it was calming at the same time.
