This piece is played by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. He is globally known as the best player of the North Indian Bamboo Flute, named the bansuri. He helped popularize Indian classical music all over the world. He specializes in Vrindaban Gurukul music, which is based around the ancient Guru-shishya tradition. He has released many albums over the course of 50 years. I chose this piece because I play the flute and I really enjoy the sound of this flute and how the performer utilizes it in their performance.
