Ptah is a song that comes from Egyptian tradition. The piece features seemingly modal and rhythmically sound melodies. The instruments that are featured; including strings, a wind-type drone, and percussion, lay nicely with each other to move the melody forward and create a sense of dissonance throughout the piece. I also think this piece, in particular, has a sort of modern feel to it, because it presents itself nicely to the ear and is easy to follow as well. I chose this song because of how the modern tendencies complement the traditional sounds of Egypt and the exemplification of deep culture rooted in this part of the world.
