The song that I chose is “Por una Cabeza” by Carlos Gardel who is an Argentine tango singer, which I found as I was looking through different tango music on YouTube. The caption informed me that this song “is one of the most famous and popular tango songs by Carlos Gardel (composer) and Alfredo Le Pera (lyricist), written in 1935.” I chose this song because I liked the way it sounded, and it seemed to have an interesting story behind it. With the function being storytelling, this tango seemed to tell a story about a man and a woman dancing together even though others looked on in disapproval. There are also only two prominent instruments that I heard in this song, which are a few violins and a piano. Lastly, the tempo was fast paced and stayed consistent throughout the song.
