I selected this song because I wanted to listen to a popular song from China, rather than traditional. I chose this artist in particular, Jolin Tsai, because she is called the “Queen of C-Pop.” This was intriguing and I randomly selected one of her songs, which happens to be one that is upbeat and the music video is outstandingly over the top. The message this song is conveying is about satirizing pop culture, which explains the music video. This song features a lot of synthesized sounds. The range of the voice is wide because Jolin uses her voice to hit both low notes as well as high notes throughout different parts of the song. The beat and tempo of the music is fast and there is a lot of texture because of the many synthesized sounds occurring at once. The dynamics/volume of the song is loud and upbeat.
