I chose the song ‘Over the Rainbow’. Was composed by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg and was originally sung by Judy Garland. Judy Garland sang this song in the Wizard Of Oz in 1939. Although Judy Garland was the first to sing this song she is not the most well known for singing this song. Israel Kamakawiwo’ole is the most well known for preforming this song. This song focuses heavily on inspiring listeners to follow their dreams because they are possible. I chose this song because although it may be a basic choice it is a song that means something to me. This song was my class song for 8th grade graduation so it is a song that marked a big milestone in my life.
