This song is from the Ghanaian artists by the name of the Apagya Show Band. Mumunde portrays aspects of Ghanaian tradition using rhythmic drumming to support the basis of the piece. But they also do something that I think is really cool, in that they combine this tradition with the modern sounds of Afro beats and funk music to create a unique sound that is super catchy. It can be compared to a traditional dance-type beat, but I imagine it can also be used in a more modern party-like setting as well. I was particularly drawn to this song because of its unique elements, but also because of what African music, in general, means to me because of my family.
