First thing’s first, mild disclaimer as Spanish/Portuguese (varies) is still the dominant language and “Morena” simply means brunette. Needless to say, there are numerous variations and songs titled this.

Post disclaimer, essentially it’s a romance song and an exceptionally lovely one at that. Even without understanding the lyrics, if a non Portuguese speaker (yes, Spanish and Portuguese have their linguistic differences), you can tell the emotion and passion that the lyrics carefully caress. With the softspoken guitar acting as the sole instrument it’s ever-present nature both fades into and out of the song. I’ve known about this song for a small while, and it’s been one of my favorites from Brazil.
