The song I selected was from Elvis Presley’s movie called Blue Hawaii. This movie features 14 songs and the one I chose is called “Moonlight Swim” from 1961. The song includes many instruments that sound very Hawaiian to me, including the guitar, drums, and the ukulele. The singular male voice is Elvis himself with many female voices accompanying him and having their own parts. I had this piece in my liked songs on Spotify for some time now and I thought it would be an excellent fit for Oceania. The soothing melody and amazing vocals helped me pick this song as well as how well it embodies the Hawaiian themes of the movie it came from.
