This is Mineon Ba, by African Classical Music Ensemble. This group uses a guitar, a kora, and Nyayeru. The kora is a unique instrument. The kora is a stringed instrument used extensively in West Africa. It typically has 21 strings and is played by plucking with the fingers. The kora combines features of the lute and harp. The Nyayeru is a string instrument that is played very similarly to a violin. Paired with these harmonic instruments being played is angelic and beautiful vocals from a solo vocalist. I am not exactly sure of what the lyrics are conveying, however, it is clear that it is a story telling song. The raw emotion and peace and calm that exudes from this song is really a thing of beauty.
