Sherine Sayed Mohamed Abdel-Wahab is a well-known Egyptian singer and is also an actress and TV personality. Sherine, which is the name that she goes by for publishing her music, started her music career when she was very young. She started at the age of 12 as part of the choir at the Cairo Opera House. She started recording her own albums at the age of 18, 9 years after she was first discovered. She later stared in a few different films, which featured her as an up-and-coming singer. In 2017, she was also one of the judges on the Egyptian version of “The Voice.”

In this song, “Masha’er,” I like the change in tempo and feel from the introduction to when the melody comes in. Even without being able to understand what is being said, the music has a melancholy feeling to it, like it would be about losing someone cared about deeply.
