Malhar Magic: Hindustani Raga

I had found interest in South Asia’s broad range of music and musical styles, but in particular, the songs they perform have some kind of religious meaning or religious intent behind them.  When searching for South Asia religious music I was brought to Youtube where I then found Hindustani Raga Indian-styled music. With some research Raga, is a form of Indian music, that has many different patterns/layering of notes with distinct characteristics of rhythms that are going to be overlapping one another.

Indian music was originally from South Asia, although became a rich tradition as it was only allowed to some, not all; many years back. Many of the Indian or general music that is original to South Asia, we are going to hear many voices and instruments layering over one another. In addition, most songs performed by Indian people/groups are going to have very heavy and strong ties. Ties mean that they are going to have much importance and background with each song, performed/sang. Many are going to consist of regional, religious, and mythology
