I chose the song Maa’ulu’ulu Fa’onelua. I picked this song because it grabbed my attention right away when I heard it. This song is sung by a group of Oceanic folk (Polynesian folk). I decided to research the English lyrics to the song and it grabbed my attention even more. I found the lyrics to be very intriguing and interesting. The lyrics seemed to hold a lot of meaning to the Oceanic people while they were singing. The songs seems to be religious but not necessarily a prayer. In the video, a lady plays the drums with sticks that appear to have a yellow ribbon at the end of them. It was very entertaining and fun to watch. The lady playing the drums was very talented and I could tell she has had lots of practice. The group only sings for a little in the beginning, but their sound and pitch all match very well.
