The song that I chose doesn’t seem to have an actual title, but it is Irish traditional music that is being played in Limerick, Ireland at Dolan’s Pub. I chose this song because it has an uplifting tune and is pretty much what I think of when I think of Irish music. The song starts out with a slower tempo with an accordion, violin, guitar, and a flute sounding instrument. It then speeds up about a minute and half in with all of the instruments being played faster and louder. There is also what sounds like foot tapping happening in the background. This isn’t really a musical element, but you can hear people talking and shouting in the background which does add to the character and possibly function of the song. I think the function of the song is to help people socialize, as it is being played at a pub while people are socializing. Another function could be for dancing as it has a rhythm and beat that you could easily dance to.
